Wilderness First Aid and CPR Course
Natural Start is partnering with Wild Med to bring you this immersive hybrid Wilderness First Aid + CPR course. Throughout this state-approved course, you will learn how to prevent and respond to the unexpected with skill and confidence. The course is designed to meet the needs of those re-certifying as well as those getting certified for the first time.

Course Format:
- 8 hours of self-directed online coursework prior to arrival
- 30 minutes live online CPR Skills Lab
- 8 hours in-person immersive Skills Lab onsite

- Patient Assessment System
- Conducting a Patient Exam
- Monitoring Vital Signs
- Patient History
- Soft Tissue Injuries including Bleeding Control
- Musculoskeletal Injuries: Sprains, Strains, Fractures, Dislocations
- Splinting
- Hypothermia
- Frostbite
- Heat Exhaustion/Heat Stroke
- Burns
- Spinal Cord Injury Management
- Lightning
- Bites and Stings
- Allergies/Anaphylaxis
- Shock
- Diabetes
- Asthma
- Seizures
CPR Course Content (completed online prior to the in-person Skills Lab)
- CPR for Adults, Children, & Infants (compressions and breaths)
- Choking Relief for Various Parties Including: infants, people who are pregnant, someone much larger than you, someone who uses a wheelchair, and of course, yourself!
- AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
- Narcan/Naloxone Administration
