Brompton Community School is a K-8 nature based school offering hands-on, high-quality outdoor education with strong academics including: environmental education; an effective, research-based literacy program; and real world STEM learning.
Students are encouraged to be curious, explore their environment, engage in creative thinking and adventurous play, and practice the skills they learn in the classroom through trial and error. Our goal is to spend at least 60% of our day outdoors, in all weather. This time is a combination of classroom time, nature exploration & connection, and play. All time spent outdoors is educational.
This work is based on 50 years of research indicating best practices to improve mental health, physical health, physiological, and educational outcomes.
