Diversity Eduction In Nature utilizes the outdoor education as a classroom to teach individuals how to create more equitable and inclusive human ecosystems through the design principle of biomimicry, in which the Earth is a role model for making  First, the program uses outdoor experiences to build the skills of (1) attentiveness, (2) wonderfulling, (3) pattern-seeking, and (4) creativity, all of which help increase a stronger sense of empathy and belonging to both wild nature and human communities. Next, using hands-on activities, the program guides participants in building a foundational understanding of the ecological concepts of (1) biodiversity, (2) mutualism, and (3) ecological interrelationships. These activities are followed by collaborative group sessions, discussions, and individual reflection exercises that generate ideas and points of inspiration that can be applied to create more diverse, inclusive, and empathetic communities. The workshops also help participants gain experiences and access to being outdoors, where they can gain a greater understanding and sense of belonging to wild nature.

Our programs can be offered in-person and virtually. Each experience is custom-designed to meet the needs of participants. Programs can be designed for the following audiences: students, educators, senior leaders and executives, educational institutions, nonprofits, and professional organizations.
