The Little Folk School is a community-based microschool that focuses on learning outside of a traditional classroom. We pair inquiry and project-based investigations with child-centered direct instruction, and of course, lots of play and exploration in nature.
Our mission is to provide an intimate learning community rich in childhood joy, hands-on and developmentally appropriate learning experiences, and to guide each child to follow their interests while they develop their love of learning.

We believe that children learn how to be a part of a community by actually being part of the community, so when not at our homebase or in the forest, we will be on community adventures. These adventures include visits to local parks, libraries, children’s enrichment programming, and local businesses connected to our inquiry-based learning experiences.
