ROOTS Farm & Forest School is a nature-based learning community serving children and families in Delaware (spread over 5 campuses) through outdoor, hands-on, project-based education. Our programs blend environmental stewardship, social-emotional learning, practical life skills, and progressive academics in mixed-age learning environments designed to foster curiosity, confidence, and connection.
Children learn through meaningful real-world experiences including gardening, animal care, cooking, woodworking, nature studies, community projects, and open-ended exploration. Our campuses feature outdoor classrooms, gardens, animals, nature playscapes, and forest learning spaces that encourage creativity, resilience, problem-solving, and care for the environment.
ROOTS offers homeschool enrichment programs, a 4-day school replacement model, preschool nature programs, camps, and family-centered community experiences. We strive to create inclusive spaces that honor different learning styles and support the whole child through relationship-based, experiential education. We have campuses in Georgetown, Frankford, Clayton, Milton, and Townsend Delaware.
Our mission is to help children develop a deep connection to themselves, their community, and the natural world while building the skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing future.
